Escrow is a payment system where a trusted third party receives and holds the money until the buyer receives the goods.
In simple terms:
You pay the money first, but the supplier does not receive it immediately.
The payment platform keeps the money and only releases it to the supplier after you confirm that the goods arrived and are safe.
Example:
If you order 200 phone chargers on 1688 using escrow, the platform holds your payment. Once the chargers arrive and you confirm they’re the correct order, the platform releases the money to the supplier.
Why it’s important
Escrow helps protect buyers from fraud or poor-quality products.
